Wow! Crossing the 2-digit mark this month (ah! the reasons one can find just to spin something!), and presenting an issue about insight sharing, and analytics relation to value.
This month, June Dershewitz, a Digital Analytics veteran, discusses the very important question of result sharing. Don’t believe for an instant that sharing results is simply a matter of “Create Reports, Package PowerPoint, Present Illuminating Truth to Colleagues”. Tsk! Tsk! You would be sorely mistaken! Results poorly communicated destroys the whole purpose of analytics. It creates doubt, rejection, or worse, indifference (“So what?”, “Gosh! She’s boring!”). June will walk you through some great tips that will help you make the final stages of the analytical journey the most productive ones.
In my piece, I urge analysts to be more blunt and daring about chasing value, and asking how well they think they can position themselves closer to it. This is the only way they will be able to really drive action, the true ultimate goal of analytics.
Finally, we are trying an experiment from this month. When I chose the newsletter format, I decided that I wouldn’t turn it into a blog, and allow comments. I thought it was still OK these days to read something, be provoked, stimulated, motivated, without necessarily “share” our thoughts. However, I obviously admit that many of our readers would certainly have great contributions to make about the various topics we tackle here at the WAO/FACTOR.
So, I decided to open a LinkedIn Group, and have the conversations there. I don’t know how well it will work, but I am very interested to see how it will go in the next few months. If you are interested in being part of those conversations, don’t hesitate to join the group here.
Thank you so much for reading.
